The twin bed is also known as a single. At 39 inches wide, twin beds won't occupy a great deal of floor space, which makes them a good option for children's rooms. These beds are 75 inches long, which is great for kids, but may be too short for most adults.
Full Sleigh Bed
Full sleigh beds, also known as double beds, are 54 inches wide, which offers significantly more sleeping space than a twin bed. This is a great size for older children, if the room can accommodate the wider size. At 75 inches long, full sleigh beds are the same length as twins.
The name might suggest that this is a bed for two, but in reality, double or full sleigh beds offer 12 fewer inches of space per person than if each person had their own twin bed!
Queen Sleigh Bed
Queen sleigh beds are 60 inches wide, which makes them more appropriate for couples. At 80 inches long, queen beds also offer that additional length that makes them more comfortable for adults. Another advantage to queen beds is that they are very common, which means bedding is inexpensive and easy to find.
King Sleigh Bed
This bed is known as both a Standard King and an Eastern King. King sleigh beds measure 76 inches from side to side, which gives two people plenty of room; about the same amount of room as two twin beds. King beds measure 80 inches long. They occupy a good chunk of floor space, but if you use your bedroom primarily for sleeping, the extra space may be well worth the compromise.
California King Sleigh Bed
A California King is also known as the Western King. At 84 inches long, California King sleigh beds are 4 inches longer than Standard Kings, but at 72 inches wide, they are also 4 inches slimmer. California King sleigh beds are designed with taller people in mind.
